It is March 1st and when you look at the calendar of things to do on Hilton Head Island you often have to take a breath to try and fit it all in.
On the opening weekend of the month we have a few remaining events that will end the Gullah Celebration nicely. A big annual event takes place 3/4 - 3/9 with the 18th Annual Hilton Head International Young Artist Piano Competition. If you love classical music and talent that belies their young age, then this is something for you!
Do you like food and wine? Of course you do, who doesn't, well then enjoy and take part in the 28th annual Hilton Head Wine & Food Festival. Running from 3/4 - 3/9 it includes Great Chef of the South Dinners at area restaurants, a Grand Tasting & Silent Auction at the Sea Pines Country Club and ends with one of the largest outdoor wine tasting on the east coast at what Islanders call WineFest but is technically called Wine & Food Festival. This takes place on Saturday 3/9 at the Coastal Discovery Museum grounds of Honey Horn.
There are plays to be seen from Bye Bye Birdie presented by Main Street Youth Theatre to the recent Tony Award winning play Venus in Fur at The South Carolina Repertory Company and even High Musical 2 put on by Hilton Head Christian Academy.
One event that gets the whole community together is the Hilton Head St. Patrick's Day Parade. Going strong for 30 years, this year we actually get to have it on the Day. So wear some green and pull up a chair anywhere on the east side of Pope Avenue between the Coligny Circle to Office Park Road. It takes place rain or shine starting at 3PM but head that way by 1:30 as the crowds are huge!
To close out the month we have the two day event of WingFest held at Shelter Cove Community Park. PreWing festivities take place Friday night 3/22 and then the main event is Saturday from 11- 6PM .
See we told you there is lots going on and this is just a taste to get the details link here at Hilton Head Islander March Calendar of Events!
